Meet the team: Chandan Mishra

What is your role at Greendeck? What does your day-to-day look like?

I joined greendeck as a machine learning engineer in December 2018. Although technically I was told that I will be working in retail AI, but in truth I am getting the chance to work in several areas like web crawling, database query optimisation, back-end development and even Dev-ops. Everyday is like "lets try out some new things" and the whole team, irrespective of juniors or seniors, are aligned with this goal.

Tell us something interesting about you!

I am an avid reader of tech blogs and gadget reviews. I also like to watch cloud conferences, specially the part where the clients talk about how modern technology is helping them solve their current problems.

So, you're the first employee at Greendeck. How does that feel?

This will always be special for me. Being initial members of the team, what we do will shape the future of the company, which is a massive responsibility, but very exciting as well!

What do you like most about the workplace?

People will always cheer you, even if you try and fail. All the founding members treat everyone as their friend. No one is afraid to ask anyone anything. We all correct each other.

What did you do before joining Greendeck?

I graduated from IIIT Dharwad in May 2019. While I was in college, I did multiple internships on android development and front-end design. Apart from this, I have won several hackathons and competitive programming events.

Who is your role model?

I really appreciate the ideology of Jack Ma. He's an exceptionally optimistic person. Instead of focusing on big futuristic plans, he tries to shape the present which will drive a better future.
